Looking for no cosigner student loans? Well the good news is that there are indeed some student loans without cosigner that you can apply for – and some very GOOD options. The bad news is that if you are looking for a private student loan with bad credit, you are going to face an uphill battle to get the funding you need. Let’s look at the options out there.

The best type of no cosigner student loans are federal student loans. Quite simply, you won’t be able to beat these loans in terms of interest rates or flexibility. The reason is that federal loans are no cosigner loans – they are backed by the government with the intention of providing every student with an education, not as a money making scheme by a private lender. As such, these are no credit check loans. If you happen to have poor credit, these are the best loans you can get.

There are basically two federal loans for students: Stafford loans and Perkins loans. The Stafford loan comes in two flavors: unsubsidized Stafford loans and subsidized Stafford loans. The subsidized version is better because the government will pay your interest. However, qualify for the subsidized student loan, you will need to qualify as a low income student.

The Perkins loan is also a no cosigner loan. The loan amount given out is substantially less, however. Most students will be given a combination of Stafford and Perkin loan funding. You may also qualify for some grants when you apply for federal student loan aid.

The other option for no cosigner student loans is to seek out private student loans without a cosigner. However, this type of funding is particularly hard to find because most private lenders do not want to take risks on students with no credit or poor credit. If you happen to have poor credit, private lenders want a cosigner with good credit to reduce the risk. A cosigner is someone who will sign for you and assume responsibility if you fail to make payments. There are good private loans out there such as the Signature student loan. This loan will require a cosigner, but if you repay the loan without problems for a full year, the cosigner is removed for your loan contract. It may be possible to get a Chase student loan or Signature student loan without a cosigner if you make a really compelling case for why you have bad credit (medical problems, etc), but you don’t’ stand a high chance.

If you can’t manage to secure a traditional private student loan without a cosigner, your other option is to seek out a no cosigner student loan with bad credit from a bad credit lender. These loans are given out by lenders who are willing to take the risk of lending to people with terrible credit, but charge very high interest rates. There are many of these types of lenders out there. Check out different offers from different lenders and get an idea about the loan interest rates and repayment plans. These are not ideal loans by any means, but if it means you can get the education you need, the price is probably worth it – as the alternative is not getting an education.

No cosigner student loans are out there for you, in the form of federal student loan aid and private student loans. Do your research before making any concrete decisions though – the more you understand all the issues, the better options you can choose.

Student loans for students with bad credit are available if you need them. This article will explore some of the different student loans for people with bad credit history.

Federal Student Loans

By and large, federal student loans are the best option if you have bad credit. Federal loans don’t have any credit check requirement. This means federal loans are no cosigner student loans. Getting a federal loan for student is easy. The two main requirements are that you are an American citizen and you have a SSN. You can easily apply for federal student financial aid by filling out a FAFSA form. When you apply, you are automatically entered into consideration for federal student loans and a variety of grant programs.

Gift Aid

Don’t forget to look at what sort of grants and scholarships are out there. Grant and scholarships aid, unlike loans, don’t need to be repaid. If you can get some educational grant money, you can save quite a bit on your educational costs.

Bad Credit Private Student Loans

If you don’t have good credit history and you can’t get any federal student loan aid, your other option is to seek out bad credit student loans. Now this is a broad term that can cover many types of loans. There is also no “one” bad credit private student loan lender – there are many different lenders, some big, some small, that will offer loans for students with poor credit. You can get loans that are geared for students or even personal bad credit loans that you can use to pay for your education.

If you opt to find a bad credit student loan online, you need to do plenty of research. Take a look at the various bad credit student loan offers you spot online and seek out the ones that offer the best loan interest rates and repayment terms. Don’t just look at a couple – seek out dozens of offers. The more research you do, the more you protect yourself from a bad deal. Also do some research on the loan company itself to make sure it’s legit. Many bad credit lenders are legitimate businesses, but there are a few bad apples out there.

Student loans for students with bad credit are available – both from the government and from private lenders. Make sure you look at all your options before making a choice.
